CSBA is the nonprofit education association representing the elected officials who govern public school districts and county offices of education. With a membership of nearly 1,000 educational agencies statewide, CSBA brings together school governing boards, and administrators from districts and county offices of education to advocate for effective policies that advance the education and well-being of the state’s more than 6 million school-age children. A membership-driven association, CSBA provides policy resources and training to members, and represents the statewide interests of public education through legal, political legislative, community and media advocacy.
SDCSBA's membership is made up of CSBA's Elected San Diego County Delegates.
2023 Coast to Coast
Monday, April 24 to Wednesday April 26, 2023
Take your advocacy to the next level this spring in Washington D.C.
Join the California School Boards Association (CSBA) and the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) for the second annual Coast2Coast Federal Advocacy Trip to Washington, D.C., where attendees will shine a light on the issues affecting the state's 6 million K-12 students. California governance team members — district and county board members and superintendents — are urged to attend this three-day annual event held in our nation's Capital.
The event will begin with a day of education policy specific to California, an "insiders" briefing on the latest politics affecting federal educational policy, and a networking opportunity with prominent D.C. figures and fellow educators. The training is followed by two days of meetings on Capitol Hill to advocate directly with California congressional representatives, White House officials, key federal agency leaders and other top policy makers.
March 14-16, 2023
Join CSBA for the flagship three-day virtual legislative advocacy event connecting local school board members with members of the California Legislature and their staff to shine light on the critical issues facing California’s schools. Recognized as one of the leading statewide educational advocacy events of the year, Legislative Action Week plays a key role in influencing vital budget and legislative issues.
CSBA staff will do everything from scheduling virtual meetings to providing advocacy training and talking points — all trustees have to do is log on!
